What is Coaching?  And how can it make a difference to your life?

What is Coaching?  And what can it do for you?

If you are anything like me, you may have asked yourself these questions.

I never thought I would be the sort of person who would have coaching.  My thinking was that coaching was only for those who were broken or under-performing.  How wrong I was.

I first became interested in personal development books around the age of 19.  These helped me to build my self-esteem and confidence following the death of my dad when I was fifteen.  What I noticed though, was that the positive effect of the books lasted only as long as I was reading them.  I didn't fully embed the learning.

This interest expanded into the workplace when I began managing staff in a holistic way.  This grew when I worked within a transformation and change environment.  Knowing that it didn't feel good to be at the receiving end of a restructure, I saw other people suffering too, when they were forced through a change process.

The experiences were different for everyone, but I often saw the same fear, anxiety, stress and worry in them, as I had felt in myself.

Undertaking life coach training, and then intensive Spiritual Psychology training (becoming a licenced spiritual psychology practitioner), was a turning point for me.

My life is so much easier now.  It has more meaning, less stress.  I am more peaceful and happy.  If I can do it, YOU can do it too.

Step One - The Coaching Discovery Call

Signing up for a Coaching Discovery Call is the first step in the process.  This is a zoom call and will last approximately 30 minutes.  

Prior to the call I will send you a blank coaching agreement (for your information only) and a questionnaire to complete prior to our call.  This helps me to understand what personal development journey you are looking for.  It also will help you to think of any questions you'd like to ask at the call.

Finding a coach which is right for you is important.  It is also important for me to gain an understanding of whether I think working together is the right next step.

If we BOTH think working together is the right next step, then we move onto step two.

Step Two - Your First Session

Most of my clients book a programme of sessions with me, either weekly, bi-weekly, three weekly or monthly.  This depends on their needs and their budget.  The recommended way of meeting is via Zoom.  I can also do in person (depending on your location), or by telephone.

Before a new client embarks on signing up for a programme, I suggest they book a single coaching session.  This is a great way to explore what working together is really like.

There is never any pressure.  I am there to support you in your journey.  What feels right for you, is right for you.

Turn up to your first session with an open mind, and a notebook and pen.

Step Three - Growth Work

Growth work is an important part of moving from where you are now, to where you want to be.

No coach can create the change you want within you.  Only YOU can do that.  I can provide you with the tools to help empower your life.  But only you can do the work.

Growth work helps you to embed the learning into your everyday.

These can be different exercises, depending on what is the right thing to support your journey at that particular moment.  It could be a self exploration exercise through writing (like in the example picture), it could even be specific meditation, or journaling.  We are all different, so different types of exercises will suit us better. 

Growth work is an important part of your journey.

Step Four - Continuing your journey with a coaching programme

The coaching programmes are an invaluable way to learn and grow.  They give ourselves space and time to breathe...to get to know who we really are, not who we think we are.  

Investing in a programme, is investing in YOU.  

After the first coaching session session you will be in a better position to know whether a 3, 6 or 12 month programme is the right one for you to embark on.

You are in control of your journey at all times.  The coaching sessions are designed just for you, to support your every step.
