We build emotionally intelligent relationships when we come together as two whole and complete individuals. Where we look within ourselves to meet our needs, rather than expecting the other person to fill anything we feel we are lacking.
Many people go wrong because they look to someone else to make up any deficiency within themselves. This may work in the short term, but never works in the longer term.
This is just as true for relationships within your professional life, especially if you are in a leadership role. For there has never been a time when the world needs inspiring and emotionally intelligent leadership like it does now.
In building any relationship you are best to start with building your own emotional intelligence first, a part of which is learning to take 100% responsibility for your life.
